My Journey

I believe it is important to be honest and transparent as a Personal Trainer, so I am happy to tell the story of my personal journey and how I arrived where I am.

Having always suffered from chronic anxiety (unrecognised until at least my late twenties) I bounced back and forth between exercising manically and essentially starving myself, to giving up completely and eating way too much of the wrong food, and definitely the wrong type of drinks!

I had personal trainers myself, binned them off when something went wrong in my private life or I "just couldn't be bothered" anymore. Gained weight, lost it, gained it again, was happy briefly, was unhappy for long drawn out periods of time, was ok again, there was no consistency whatsoever.

The first step in my professional fitness career was to become a spin Instuctor. This would transpire to be one of my better decisions in life. It made me accountable for my cardio workouts (you kind of have to show up when you have a class full of people waiting!) This is where the consistency began.
Within a few years I had added various other programmes to my catalogue of expertise, I am qualified to teach LesMills Bodypump LesMills Combat, and Les Mills Born To Move, Pilates, Circuits, the list goes on....I adore teaching group exercise and will never stop doing this alongside my personal training career.

Hereafter comes the interesting part. I took me some time to realise that teaching these classes alone was not going bring me the results I so badly wanted, either physically or mentally.

I spent a year working with a couple of PT's that really knew their stuff, the penny finally dropped, and the results started happening! I will forever be grateful to my lovely (now) friends for showing me the way, encouraging me to be my best self, and giving me the tools and confidence I so badly needed to move forward. One of these clever bunnies continues to act as mentor to me as I grow my career and clientele, I doubt there will ever be a time I don't turn to him for a few words of wisdom every now and then. He also helped me avoid a serious operation, but that's another story!

Having now qualified to the status and privilege that comes with being able to impart this experience and knowledge onto others, I would like to bring it to you.

I know I can help you. I know I can inspire and support you without judgement and make you happier and healthier. Happy with your mind, body and life. You'll be amazed when you start putting yourself and your health first how everything else just falls into place.
